Introduction To The Book Of Revelation (The Deity of Jesus Christ)

The whole book of Revelation is filled with the visions that John saw while at that island. God showed him the present and all the future events until the creation of the New Heaven and New Earth. The Book of Revelation is centered and dedicated to the Person of Jesus Christ. It reveals Who really Jesus Christ is, His deity, divine nature, and authority.

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

John one of the Apostles of the Lamb who actually out lived all the other Apostle among the twelve. When the Romans had persecuted him by boiling him in the Oil tank and he proved immortal. They threw him on a dangerous isolated island called Patmos to dwell with beasts and to die there.

But God had preserved John for an important ministry of the prophetic visions which later was revealed to him while at that isolated desolate Island of Patmos.

It was on the Lord's day (the day of Jesus' resurrection / Sunday) that John being filled with the Holy Spirit was caught up in divine visions and revelations of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The whole book of Revelation is filled with the visions that John saw while at that island. God showed him the present and all the future events until the creation of the New Heaven and New Earth.

The Book of Revelation is centered and dedicated to the Person of Jesus Christ. It reveals Who really Jesus Christ is, His deity, divine nature and authority. The blessing is upon every man and woman who gives himself to the reading, the listening and the understanding of all the words written therein and keeps in constant obedience to them all (Rev. 1:3).

The book of Revelation is both the supplement to the book of Daniel and the final consummation of all prophesies about the purpose of God towards all his creations.

The book is filled with mysterious symbols, figures, and numericals which calls for the spirit of wisdom and revelations in order to understand them.

Below are the most commonly used prophetic symbols in the Book of Daniel and their interpretation.:-

  • A Star represents an Angel

  • Candlestick represents the Church

  • Oil represents the Holy Spirit

  • Vine/Olive tree represents the saints

  • The Sword represents the Word of God

  • A Beast represents a kingdom or a king.

  • Horn represents a power/ king /kingdom /authority/Ruler.

  • Crown represents Authority

  • A woman represents a church (either a Harlot church or a Virgin church)

  • A Dragon represents Satan (Lucifer)

  • Water /Floods represent Multitude of people

  • A week (one set of seven) represents seven years

  • Time is equivalent to One year

  • Times is equivalent to 2 years

  • Half a time is equivalent to half a year (six months)

  • One year is equivalent to 360 days

  • One month is equivalent to 30 days

Every person who makes blunders and misrepresents the revelations behind each prophetic vision perverts truth and misleads people. Such a person shall not go unpunished unless he repents and recants his/her error.

Without the Spirit of God who only is able to reveal all things to the church, the book remains sealed to the blind and to the blind guides, though plain to those filled with the Holy Spirit and to those who search wisdom and understanding.

Without understanding the Book of Revelation, people can take a devious step of thinking that the world will exist forever and that the Lord Jesus will never return back to establish his eternal kingdom.

The Deity of Jesus Christ

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

When a person who understands Jesus as the third person of the Trinity reads Revelation chapter 1, am sure he/she might develop a great confusion in his mind.

We're told that there are three persons of the trinity making up one God and all these different persons serve different purposes of the same mission.

In the most common trinity doctrine, The Father is Supreme, He is the great I Am, Jehovah, YHWH, El Shaddai, El Elyon, El Olam, Elohim, Adonai, etc. the son is Jesus who is second and then the Holy Spirit who is also different but of the same God.

But here in the Book of Revelations; Jesus Christ explains himself as the Almighty, the first and the last, the beginning and the end (Isaiah 44:6). The Book of Revelation doesn't call Jesus the son of God, but He is called God Almighty or Word of God or Lamb of God. The Holy Spirit is the life of God that entered into flesh and Jesus was born.

In the book of Isaiah 9:6

[6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder (All Dominion and power and authority on earth and in heaven) : and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God (ELOHIM) , The everlasting Father (ELOLAM) , The Prince of Peace.

It was not an impersonation for the son of God to be named THE EVERLASTING FATHER: It’s who He is indeed.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2]The same was in the beginning with God.

The Bible says it clearly that there is only one GOD Eternally existing with Himself in three manifestations, Same God, different manifestations, different names; same mission (1John5:7). Jesus Christ was the spoken word of God that through that Word God created all things. God sent his spoken Word to the prophets of old and the Word entered into the prophets as the Holy Spirit. The Word in their mouth made theme like God or gods (Exodus 7:1) because they had Thus Saith the Lord.

After many years the spoken Word of God became flesh and dwelt among men (Immanuel). This Immanuel is the savior of the world (Jesus) (Jehovah Tsidkenu / Jehovah Mekoddishkem), for God, was in Him reconciling Himself to the world (2 Corinth 5:19).

When the spoken Word of God obtained flesh, He became the son of God or God Incarnate. The visible image (Jesus) of the invisible God (Father / Spirit).

After his mission of salvation, He went back in glory and took on his Majestic form (The Almighty)

“For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”

He was a man, a Jew by descent, but in Revelation, He is God Almighty, neither man nor even compared to Angels, He is the Great I Am, The Alpha and Omega. He is no longer Jew, nor black or white. He is God Almighty. That's who He is.

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Therefore, let no one deceive you that Jesus Christ is black or white or Jew, whatsoever, He is God without descent.

If anyone asks you of how Jesus Christ looks like, open for them Revelation 1:8-18

He is the full manifest (bodily form) of the the Godhead.

Shalom Shalom
